Abstract: | Abstract: Nepal is a developing country, where most of the people are suffering from many health problems, most of these are preventable in nature. These health problems could not be prevented as expected due to the less effort and commitment, clear Ideas and specific planning, the modern health care service has been expanded significantly over the last two three decades. It is not accessible to the population of rural areas. The contributing factors to inaccessibility and less utilization of the modern health care services are pove, ignorance and other socio-cultural factors. Most of the medical doctors prefer to work in urban areas where they get more opportunities. In Nepal, traditional healing practices play a strong role in maintaining psychological and physical wellbeing of the majority of rural people who do not have access of satisfactory modern health services. A study on "Healing Systems and Practices; An Anthropological Study of Chhatara VDC in Bajura District." has alone to fulfill the objectives to identity the attitude, existing situation and influencing factors towards the traditional healing practices. Out of 528 households, 15 percent (i.e. 80 households) were selected by using proportional stratified random sampling Procedure. Data was collected from the selected household head using questionnaires. Data were tabulated in a chart to prepare analytical tables under different headings and sub-headings. Interpretation was made on the basis of percentage, causes count and comparing with other variables. |
