Abstract: | Summary: Ministry of Health & Population (MoHP) initiatives to record and manage information in terms of health care finance, providers, and services gave rise to such milestones as the public expenditure review of the health sector and the Nepal National Health Account (NNHA), both of which were used as tools in informing and shaping national health policy (NHP). As the country moves forward to a decentralized health system, the need for a similar instrument to rationalize the district healthcare delivery system led to discussions about the feasibility and desirability of developing a district health account (DHA), which focuses on identifying health issues at district level, particularly in terms of health expenditure, health care functions and sources of funding. |
