Abstract One of the most common complication of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is acute respiratory distress syndrome requiring high flow oxygen, ventilator support, corticosteroids and other supportive therapies. Opportunistic aggressive fungal infection with Mucormycosis, although an uncommon entity otherwise, has been on rise in this pandemic especially in patients with chronic underlying illnesses. One such case of rhino-orbital Mucormycosis in a background of uncontrolled hyperglycaemia presented in the hospital and the histopathological examination of the tissues from ethmoidal sinus and frontal recess showed invasive necro-inflammatory infection by numerous Mucormycosis hyphae.
